Halocarbon gases fire suppression systems

These agents recognized as synthetic gases that could serve properties and life at different type of fire hazard.

Fast discharge along with minimum gas requirement compare to other gaseous agents turns it to demanded option in gaseous fire suppression systems.

Generally, there are two pressure storing range for these systems, which are 25 or 42 bar.

Most famous of the agents that recognized by standards are as follows:

  • HFC227 ea (FM-200™, NAFS227™, …)
  • HFC125 (NAFS 125™, ECARO-25®, …)
  • FK-5-1-12 (3M NOVEC 1230™)

Features:

  • Minimum requirement for hardware and gas among all gaseous suppression systems.
  • Fast release and extinguishing time.
  • Safe for normally occupied area

Limitation of Use:

  • Chemicals that contain their own oxygen supply such as: cellulose nitrate (old movie film) and gunpowder, which are capable of rapid oxidation in the absence of air.
  • Reactive metals such as: Lithium, Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium, Titanium, Uranium, or Plutonium.
