A water mist system is a fire protection system, which uses very fine water sprays. The micronized water droplets allow the water mist to control, suppress or extinguish fires by:
- cooling effect
- displacing oxygen by evaporation of water
- attenuating radiant heat by the small droplets themselves
System general architecture is similar to sprinkler system but the pump (or gas pump) unit produce very high pressure (near 100 bar) to be able micronize water at spray heads (sprinkler heads).
Lots of hazard can control and suppress by water mist system from residential buildings to industrial plants.
